"I have had the priveledge of knowing and training under Guru Besar Jerry for 11 years now. It has been an absolute honor to be a student and brother to such a knowledgeable and respectable man.  His skill, to all who have witnessed him in action is truly astonishing. The thing that has always impressed me the most about him is his generosity. He goes so far beyond what is necessary in class to make sure that beginner and teachers alike, understand what is being taught, without any hesitation . I have been lucky enough to become good friends with Guru Besar Jerry outside of training. His generosity inside the training hall , is paled in comparison to that with which he shows outside. I have seen him help so many people and have personally gained more knowledge and recieved more blessings in my life due to this man's teaching and freindship, it would take two lifetimes to repay that which I owe to him.    The other side of Guru Besar Jerry, is the side with which I pray I never have the misfortune to encounter. The ferocity that is unleashed when he puts his skill into action is enough to make the toughest fighter cower. His wealth of knowledge of Pencak Silat as well as all of the other styles that he studied before coming to Silat, has made him into a warrior of the highest caliber. I have seen him do some things throughout the years, that he makes look effortless I might add, that make me feel like I have never trained a day in my life, yet he is one of the most humble and approachable people that I have ever known, and his passion to continue to learn is relentless. 
 
   His knowledge of Internal Energy and the Meditative and Spiritual aspects of this art has always been facinating to me. I have also  been witness to situations where Guru Besar Jerry has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that his skill in these areas is unquestionably masterfull. Anyone who has seen or been effected by his healing or internal energy work can verify that he is truly gifted. The depth of understanding of the philosophy and internal aspects of such a complex art combined with all of the extra research and extra training in related areas is testament to his dedication and unwavering willingness to better himself, and the amazing thing is that this is for the sole purpose of being able to teach and help others! In todays society masters such as this are very rare.
 
   In the many years that I have known and trained with Guru Besar Jerry I have seen his school go from a small group of devoted followers to an international organization with schools in many states and even countries. "It is very difficult to put into words what Guru Besar Jerry Jacobs has done for me.  He is a friend, Philosopher, Healer, Masseuse, Personal Trainer, Reiki Master and an awe-inspiring teacher of Pencak Silat.  My life was altered forever once I met him.

                It is said that one is most apt to get discouraged at the half way point through a project.  This is how I felt about my life due to an injury in my neck.  Like a project, I felt discouraged because my life was half over.  I was fifty years old with two bulging discs in my neck. Looking for a masseuse, I found Jerry’s ad in the yellow pages.  I always heard that Martial Artists know how to work out each muscle in the human body.  That is why I called Jerry and this is how we met.  His massage helped me more than any doctor had for the last year. After a couple of months I told Jerry I would like to get in shape so I can learn Martial Arts.  Jerry informed me that I should join Martial Arts to get in shape.  He was right and his philosophy taught me my life isn’t half over and that it starts new every day. Time is irrelevant.

                Due to the amount of pain I had, Jerry recommended that my wife and I learn Reiki.  We both agreed and once we became attuned to first and second degree Reiki with Jerry I felt we had bonded for life.  I use Reiki every day of my life.  Whenever I ask Jerry for Reiki healing energy he unselfishly offers it.  Just last week he sent me Reiki energy when I was getting a nerve block at the hospital.  After Jerry taught me Reiki I learned that it is okay to be spiritual for the first time in my life.  “Everything is possible for him who believes” (Mark 9:23).

                   Another way my life has been changed by Jerry was after my wife read his blog she started reading some of his favorite books that he had listed.  Carole, my wife encouraged me to read “The Secret”, one of Jerry’s listed favorite books.  The thesis of the book is we attract everything into our lives good and bad.  This is called “The law of attraction”.  After reading the book we realized we could attract success into our lives.  Both of us are now going into our second year of college.

                I am also going into my second year of Pukulan Cimande Kombinasi.  The Art is now a part of my daily life style.  I have lost 75 lbs and Jerry is training me weekly in the gym.  In the last couple of months I have gained a full inch to my biceps.  Jerry said his goal is to add four more inches to them.  I sometimes feel this goal at the age of 50 is not possible, but anytime I doubt Jerry it is my mistake.  I cannot believe that I am in the best shape of my life at my age.  I am anxious to become a Guru in Silat myself in the next five years so I will be qualified to teach this humbling Art.  I recommend that anyone who wants to learn Martial Arts, contact Guru Besar Jerry Jacobs."
